Women are still learning fear on campus
On December 6, we commemorated the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women. On this day in 1989 a gunman entered Montreal’s École Polytechnique. He purposely separated the men and women in the classroom and opened fire on all the women, killing 14.
Remembering this horrific event helps us recognize how widespread violence against women is in our society and take action against it.
This year we connected the Montreal Massacre memorial day with the ongoing violence women are facing on campuses.
