“Together We Grow” Leaf For Survivors
International Women’s Day and Trans Day of Visibility both take place in March and to prepare for these days of celebration, I am inviting you to write a personal message of hope directly to a survivor of sexualized violence on the leaf below.
Sexualized violence is an isolating experience. It often leaves survivors shrouded in feelings of shame and self-blame, and it can cause them to disconnect from their friends and family, their hobbies and passions, their communities, and themselves.
Your loud and proud message of support will combat isolation and create the connection necessary for survivors to grow, and heal. You can let survivors know that you believe them, you care about them, and that they are not alone.
Once you have returned the leaf with your personal message of support, we will print it off on a green piece of paper, and add it to our Community Tree which is displayed in our support group space!
Click here to download a fillable PDF version of this leaf. Return it to us by attaching it to an e-mail and sending it to fundraising@salalsvsc.ca. You can also e-mail us directly with your message of hope and we would be happy to fill out the leaf for you. We will print your leaf, and add it to our Community Tree in our waiting room.
Let’s surround the survivors that we serve with messages of hope, resilience, love and compassion for International Women’s Day and Trans Day of Visibility because survivors can’t heal in isolation — together we grow.
In solidarity,
