According to these studies, men are regretting every “missed opportunity” to have sex with a new partner and women are regretting losing their virginity to the wrong partner, cheating on a present or past partner, and moving too fast sexually. Scientists chalk this all up to the need to make babies. It is all biological, not the result of rape culture, coercive gender socialization, or our society’s views on masculinity and femininity.
