This year, WAVAW had the immense fortune of having Megan Cosens as a volunteer in our office.  Here are some words the staff used to describe her wonderful presence and contributions:

Megan offered incredible support to the Fund Development program by: Searching information and entering over 300 donors into our complex new system; shredding over 200 confidential information sheets; assisting with donor calls and gathering necessary information; sorting mails and neatly organizing donations to process; and being consistently reliable and prompt in her work.  She is an amazing woman with so many talents! – Monica

Megan showed incredible initiative and expertise in conducting research for the Website Committee on possible new marketing and social media strategies. She always presented the information in an accessible, engaging, and totally handy-dandy format that wowed and enlightened our non-tech-expert Website Committee members! Megan always brightened up the WAVAW office environment with her enthusiasm, dedication and warmth! – Alana

While I love a lot of the administrative pieces of my job, using Excel has not been one of them. Megan gladly put her fierce (yes, fierce) Excel skills to task by revitalizing the Counselling program client database, as well as our monthly stats forms. Not only did she decrease the “visual noise,” she also made it more efficient in a number of ways. Her work has supported our programs to collect information and do reporting with ease. Her presence as the first face many women meet has always been friendly, helpful and welcoming.  – Sharon

How do you describe the contributions of someone who is so integral to the functioning of WAVAW?  Megan is a bright light.  Not only is she incredibly witty and funny (which is so important to have in the work we all do) but she is incredibly talented and hard working.  The skills she has brought to WAVAW and the projects she has taken on for the women of WAVAW are invaluable.  Being able to work with her and learn from her has been an honor and I am so excited for her future work. – Sasha
