Reimagining Justice

A virtual support group for survivors of sexualized violence

Reimagining Justice Support Group starting October 19, 2021 via Zoom

Dates: Tuesdays – October 19, October 26, November 2, November 9, Nov 16
Time: 1pm-3pm PST

This group offers survivors with space to discuss system-specific challenges with the existing options we have available to respond to sexual violence—namely, the criminal legal system. This group will create space for folks to unpack what justice looks like, particularly when systems have failed to provide justice to survivors of sexualized violence. Participants of the group will explore how our conceptions of justice evolve over time, and what justice beyond the criminal legal system can look like.

Intended Audience

This support group is designed for survivors of sexualized violence who:

  • have considered, perhaps tried the criminal legal system, but haven’t gotten justice.
  • are curious about exploring alternative forms of justice, and what it might look like to access accountability and healing in ways that resonate with your values, outside of the criminal-legal system
  • have experienced disappointment, frustration or heartbreak while searching for justice with the criminal legal system

Space will be limited. Please call the crisis line at 1-877-392-7583 Monday – Friday, between 9am and 5pm PST to express interest in the Reimagining Justice Group.

Attendance

We encourage group members to attend all 5 sessions. If you are unable to attend the first session, or more than 1 session total, we ask that you sign up for the next round of this group instead. This is because sessions will build upon each other and regular attendance ensures continuity of the process.
